Chirali Patel
Chirali Patel one of the most influential cannabis attorneys in the country - a legal architect, social equity pioneer, and the rare operator who has built both a thriving law practice and a statewide community impact platform from the ground up.
Her legal foundation is anything but ordinary. She began her career in public service, working as counsel for the County of Passaic, the County of Bergen, and the City of Hoboken before moving into private practice, where she took on some of the most consequential litigation in U.S. history - including the In re National Prescription Opiate Litigation.
She brought that same tenacity to cannabis. Chirali entered the industry in 2016, long before it was mainstream, and has since built Blaze Law Firm into a go-to practice for licensed operators, entrepreneurs, and legacy market clients navigating New Jersey's complex regulatory landscape. The firm has secured licenses and guided businesses from inception to operation, and provides pro bono representation for applicants who have historically been locked out of the industry.
But her real differentiator is Blaze Responsibly® - a corporate social responsibility platform she founded that has become a model for how cannabis companies can give back with measurable impact. Through dozens of statewide expungement clinics and resource fairs, Chirali's team has helped thousands of individuals clear records that have followed them long after they've paid their dues to society - something she witnessed firsthand as a former prosecutor. Chirali co-developed and taught the inaugural Cannabis Law & Business Certificate at Rutgers Law School and serves as an Executive Member of the NJ State Bar Association's Cannabis Committee. She is a recognized instructor at the New Jersey Cannabis Training Academy - the first of its kind in the state.
